It's no secret that this week has been kicking my tail, though more so in a humorous way at this point. I couldn't even list out the amount of things that have gone wrong because it's almost been everything that I've been a part of or a hand in. I'm pushing past it though, and rocking it out now that it's the weekend.

Next week will be better because it just has to be.

The big football game of the year is coming up and being a native Texan, I couldn't be more excited for it. Every year, as you know, I'm always busy with nosh worthy big game style tailgating and home gating bites. This year won't be any different! Naked Sriracha Turkey Burger

For a while now, I've been wanting to create a 'naked' burger. What's a naked burger? Basically it's a burger that is so good you don't need a bun. That's right. This is a bun-less burger! It sits here completely bare (except for a little drizzle of sauce) and couldn't be more proud of it.

Turkey burgers tend to get knocked on a lot with people making claims like they are dry or boring and bland. Honestly, I've not ever found that to be the case. It's getting warm here in Texas, though I'll be the first one to say that so far we've had a perfectly mild summer. Usually by now we are well into 100+ degrees days, and so far we've barely broken past the 90's. No, that's not a complaint either! Cheesy Ranch Chex™ Mix

Holidays are full of tradition, and one of the traditions that I lacked as a child but have picked up on my adult years is homemade Chex™ Mix! A couple of years back now my mom came over and made up GIANT batch of Chex Mix for us all to enjoy. She made as many flavor combinations as we could think up on.

It's become our tradition to have mix with us almost everywhere we go during the holiday season. My mom takes it to every party, event, and get together. It's always a huge hit, not matter what flavor combination it is, it's always a winner!

I'm not sure exactly what sparked up my mother's sudden desire to start the Chex Mix tradition, but I sure am glad that it happened. I love it when my mom loves food as much as I do...

Chicken Bacon Ranch Macaroni & Cheese Casserole

My little one is a macaroni and cheese fiend... and also one of the most strangely picky eaters that I've ever known. For most of her five years go life, my little girl has been a vegetarian for the most part. Of course, it's not been a conscious decision on her part or for any other reason than the mere texture of meat. Apparently it's a pretty common trend among toddlers and preschoolers.

I can't say that I was much different when I was about her age. I drank water instead of any soda or juice, and had to be told that meat came from a meat tree and not from an animal. I also required that all meals be cooked by my mother. Yeah, I've always been a bit special about food.

Over the past few months, my little girl has made some great strides in adding more and more to her list of acceptable foods. I'd like to think that it has a lot to do with the fact that I encourage her to spend time with me in the kitchen. I also do my best to encourage her to simply try new things. No pressure though!...
