No Churn Mermaid Ice Cream

Psst… hey! Did you know that making your own ice cream is super easy to do? And you only need a couple of ingredients to do it? Yep! Plus, fresh ice cream is always far more rich and creamy than what you’ll get at the store. AND you get to include whatever add ins you want. Or leave out what you don’t!

This No Churn Mermaid Ice Cream is sure to impress the kiddos. It’s colorful, bright, fun, and tastes great! No machine here. No churning. Just sweet simple to make ice cream that’s colored and prettied up further with some fun sprinkles.

Being as there’s only a few ingredients used here, there isn’t a whole lot that can be done to make it any better. The one thing I did do was swap out a regular sweetened condensed milk, for a fat free one. Because… why not? The ice cream turned out smooth and creamy just the same.

I used gel food colorants, but you can play around with other kinds too. I used a blue, teal, green, and purple because that’s what matched my ‘mermaid’ themed sprinkles this time around.

As pretty as it is tasty, this easy to make no churn ice cream is perfect for the kiddos to help make and enjoy during the hot summer months!

Ingredients

  • 16 Oz. Heavy Whipping Cream (Very cold!)
  • 14 Oz. Fat Free Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Gel Food Coloring

Instructions

  1. Place a mixing bowl, a 9x5" loaf pan and whisk attachment(s) into the freezer about 30 minutes before use.
  2. Once the parts are super cold, remove the mixing bowl and whisk from the freezer and pour the 16 Oz. heavy cream into the bowl.
  3. Whisk on high speed for about 5 minutes or until stiff peaks form.
  4. In a separate bowl, stir together the 14 Oz. sweetened condensed milk, 2 Tsp. vanilla, and a pinch of salt together.
  5. Divide the condensed milk mixture evenly among a few bowls with desired food coloring. (I used 4 colors, purple, blue, green, and teal.) Stir to combine.
  6. Add the whipped cream to each bowl; again dividing evenly. Fold together gently with the colored condensed milk.
  7. Remove the loaf pan from the freezer and add in the different colors as desired. Use a knife to swirl together.
  8. Top with an desired 'mermaid' sprinkles, cover with foil, and place in the freezer for 5 hours.
  9. Once good and frozen, scoop and enjoy!
